Greeks have big ones: Stroumboulopoulos.com for sale while George uses ‘Strombo’

We’ve been following TV and radio host, George Stroumboulopoulos for a while now; in his native country of Canada (eh!) he’s achieved celebrity status.

In 2005, George “Strombo“, as he’s known, launched “George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight” – a popular Canadian television talk show with millions of fans and viewers. The show is an upbeat fusion on cinema, music, politics and other social issues.

Growing up as the son of a Greek father and an Ukrainian mother, George Stroumboulopoulos must have been rather conscious of his last name, that literally means “son of the chubby one” in Greek. Regardless, by adopting the shorter “Strombo” moniker, George effectively created a brand for himself.

He also shaved off 10 letters from his name, how cool is that? 😀 It’s not uncommon for Greek last names to exceed the space provided on official forms and documents!

George Stroumboulopoulos is about to have his debut in a new Friday night TV show on CNN, aptly named “Stroumboulopoulos.” The show premieres this Sunday, at 10:00pm Eastern.

So who owns Stroumboulopoulos.com ?

None other than Domain Asset Holdings, Mike Mann’s domain holding company. The domain is currently listed for sale via BuyDomains.

Stroumboulopoulos has been using Strombo.com for several years, and it’s currently forwarding to the CBC portal web page where George hosts his award-winning TV show.

Way to go, George!
