Manhattan.com: Premium “real estate” priced to sell at $1.1 million dollars

Manhattan.com, an ultra-premium, aged geo-domain representing New York’s affluent Manhattan district, is now priced to sell.

Its owners, Geocentric Media, are ready to accept offers of $1.1 million dollars, a huge discount from an appraised value of $4 million USD at NameWorth.

Fred Melcado, CEO at Geocentric Media, talked about the availability of the domain Manhattan.com at a discounted price:

“Manhattan.com is appraised at NameWorth for $4M. While we have it for sale at a fraction of this appraisal, it is easy to see how the algorithms came up to a $4M valuation. We sometimes in the domain industry see major variations in what a domain name is worth….unlike the comps that exist in the real estate industry. While this number is higher than a few recently sold major cities, with everything that Manhattan has going for it, I can absolutely see this valuation being somewhat accurate. Someone soon will be getting a major premium domain name at a bargain!”

Meanwhile, the appraisal tool provided by domain brokerage, Saw.com, appraised the domain Manhattan.com at $1.653 million dollars:

Automated domain valuation tools don’t always agree on a domain’s worth.
