MrBeast: One hundred million YouTube subscribers but no matching .com

MrBeast is a top 5 YouTube channel operator, with more than 100 million subscribers. Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has been credited with pioneering a genre of YouTube videos that centers on expensive stunts.

The popular YouTube phenom is looking to raise $150 million from venture investors, which would value his growing empire at $1.5 billion dollars. That’s because Forbes estimates that Donaldson earns $54 million per year for his content alone!

All this was achieved without operating the matching .com domain name, MrBeast.com. Instead, MrBeast uses the domain name ShopMrBeast.com.

It all makes sense, as the official web site was registered in 2018, all while MrBeast.com was registered in 2009.

We’re not sure if MrBeast attempted to acquire the domain name MrBeast.com from its registrant, who simply displays a black landing page without much information on it. The headline reads “What Are you doing???” and there’s no content other than a graphic “Powered by Site5 Web Hosting” that most likely tracks visits.

If MrBeast were to receive such a massive round of funding, it’d be quite possible that the domain MrBeast.com would sell for millions of dollars.

For now, just follow MrBeast on YouTube and stay away from registering other TLDs under the “MrBeast” keyword.

THe dude does not need his .com, it is great to have but this guy is worth than 20x of all the top domainers put together. You don’t see many domainers developing websites or companies that work. They may have a website on the side that pulls in 100k a year but no billion dollar biz. or even multi-million dollar biz. Not one.
The top guy sold his portofolio for 40 million. This guys is worth 1.5 billion. And you have about 1000 others that are worth multi-millions.
Many ways to make a billion dollar business.

Dom – That’s all great and dandy when you have a YouTube channel but when you’re seeking a $1.5 billion valuation get ready to follow corporate rules.
