Obese domainers a no-go at European domainer conferences

More of you to love? Obese domainers need to take notice.

Get on with the times: eating too much and not exercising enough can damage your health, but would it affect your domainer rights?

The overall consensus seems to be that if you plan to attend any domainer conferences scheduled outside of the US, you might need to go on a diet first.

“We definitely see a large number of overly obese domainers in the US conferences”, said Frank Fasoli, event coordinator for DomainFest.

“By obese we mean those folks that are over 250 lbs and who tend to go to domainer conferences simply for the free buffet. As such, we kept the food availability low at DomainFest NY, offering only bagels and coffee.”

Meanwhile, European domainers appear to be slender and they exercise more than their American counterparts. In large parts of Europe, daily cycling to work or walking around the cities is a natural function that healthy-conscious domainers ascribe to.

Of course, there are exceptions to the rule.

“I pity those domainers that have not experienced a half-marathon or an intense triathlon”, said Shane Cultra of DomainShane.com.

“When I am doing my daily 10k run I am reaching domainer nirvana, which allows me to register better domains”, Shane added, while putting on his running shoes.

Rick Latona categorically denied some rumors that TRAFFIC will engage in weighing participants before and after the conferences and those with a severe gain would have to pay a fee for over-eating.

With the upcoming TRAFFIC conference set for South Beach, Miami in October domainers are advised to trim those waistlines by exercising and to abstain from fatty foods or excess alcohol – there will be mass quantities of food available at the conference to make up for lost time!

Nothing wrong with having a few extra pounds. I like my women thick! But yeah, stay healthy and keep your domain portfolio slim too.

  2. We all need to watch for our health – Sitting at the computer all day is not a good thing.

  3. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

Pete – Thick or not, it’s good to walk or otherwise exercise daily.

Free Directory – Fully agree, but try telling that to NameJet, Snapnames and Pool.com whose auctions we have to *sit* in front of a computer and watch πŸ˜€

If Rick does introduce this before & after weight system, he better weigh everyone naked or people like me can easily game the system by concealing 5 or 10 lb weights during the initial weigh in.

“…it’s good to walk or otherwise exercise daily.”

    Good advice.

One should walk around the block before registering a domain.

Not only can you lose weight and keep fit ,you may change your mind and not register the domain
    thereby saving some $.

Tric – great advice, my friend. You are a white-hat hacker for announcing this “zero day” security issue πŸ˜€

  6. Shane says:

10K? With the Chicago Marathon in a month I am up to 10 miles A DAY/ 60 miles a week (I rest one day). Next year is the big boy. The Full IronMan. 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run. Somehow I have to figure out how to workout 17 hours a week. A word of caution, I could be very moody in 2011 πŸ™‚

  7. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

Shane – as a non-runner I naively thought the “10k” was an equal reference to 10,000 meters or 10 miles? Either way, you’re the domainer runner paradigm πŸ˜€

  8. BullS says:

Sex and Domaining are 2 good exercises.

  9. Yes, obesity is a serious epidemic globally. Check the CDC’s obesity trends graph to see the continual increase every year over the last 20+ years. Well, I did wind sprints this morning in South Florida heat. I’ll admit however it would be easier if I weighed 15-20 pounds less…

  10. Michael says:

Fatter domainers are harder to kidnap. But does that spread to their domains too?

  11. $teve says:

i have seen a lot of these larger than life domains go to Colombia now with doggy bags full of .co

domains. by the way can anyone tell what was the point of buying .co domains is the internet market that

big in Columbia i know there is a lot of export going on there to various parts of the word in powder form

but i never realised that Domainers would be subject to this kind of marketing buy 10 .co domains

and get free gramme of caine sorry co.caine

this is really going to impact the Columbian Google i am telling you all those Columbian internet

companies now being diluted by greedy .co investors pardon meant to say sav vy .co investors

who are coming to Columbia to trade

but the way can i ask a really daft question if everyone is not opening a internet business in Columbia

then why are they buying them ????

i have seen fat domainers stopped at customs while trying to import .co into google .com

and being found and to be banned for evermore fat domainers have found that you can get back the

value of .co`s by eating them and smuggling them but hey which country would the smugle them to

or is that why they are fat because you cant poop a .co

  12. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

BullS – You just revealed the best hidden secret in the world!

Leonard – There’s definitely a market for weight loss keyword verticals – owned by overweight domainers πŸ˜€

Michael – Depends on which part of Mexico you visit πŸ˜€

$teve – This is hilarious! Thanks for taking the time to come up with a humorous story related to .co

  13. Dietmar says:

In Valencia we are going on Paellas and other Mediterrenain food.

Here we do it the way round, if you dont gain at least 2 pounds you have to pay a extra fee.

Come over from the 23rd to the 24th of September.

  14. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

Dietmar – Paellas, yummy. I prefer the tapas menu as far as Spanish food is concerned πŸ˜€

    Keep the conference attendants healthy!
