Oscar-worthy? The Domain King’s Speech

Rick Schwartz receives many offers but he's picky about how many he responds to.

Today, uber-domainer Rick Schwartz unveiled the February list of offers on domains that he owns.

Well-known for his direct and no-nonsense approach to domaining, the Domain King blogged about the single most important piece of advice to offers: how to piss lowballers off 😀

Rick’s response to comments such as “this domain is not worth [$price]” etc.  – replace “[$price]” with any exuberant amount that Rick likes to quote for his domains – is simply “OK, then come back when it is.

Rick Schwartz then proceeds to list several domains that he received offers on and mentions that he only responded to 6 out of 150 such inquiries during the month of February.

That’s only a 4% response rate which makes the rest of sales-hungry domainers look desperate.

Unfortunately, the Domain King’s Speech does not include the monetary offers that he received on those domains, which would help understand the valuation model of his domains. While quite a few domains on that list are adult – a genre that has received a great infusion from the recent sex.com sale at Sedo – there are plenty that are brandable or related to business.

Still, it’d be great to see a list with prices offered for these domains; it’d also be an indication of whether offers increase or decrease over time.

.pH – I believe Rick raved over The Social Network but I am not sure if he considers it Oscar material.
