PIR CEO won’t attend ICANN76 for personal reasons

Jonathon Nevett, President and CEO at Public Interest Registry (PIR) announced that he won’t be attending the industry’s upcoming conference, ICANN76, for very personal reasons.

Mr. Nevett shared the following note:

“I want to be open about an unexpected health challenge in the hope of turning a cancer diagnosis into something positive. I will miss my industry friends and colleagues next month in Mexico and look forward to seeing everyone at the June meeting.

Mr. Nevett is a veteran of the domain name industry, co-founding Donuts Inc. in 2010 and helping to raise in excess of $150M to form a registry of over 240 Internet domain extensions. Before PIR and Donuts, he served as Senior Vice President at Network Solutions, where he was responsible for policy, government affairs, registry relations, and the corporate ethics office.

We wish Mr. Jon Nevett a full and swift recovery!
