The Domain King, Rick Schwartz, has been around long enough to know what types of newsworthy domains are best to speculate on.
Popes, for example, arrive every few years—decades even. Pope domains that are hit spot-on can become traffic magnets, as in the case of PopeFrancis.com, a domain that was accidentally dropped by its registrant, the very Vatican (Holy See.)
Yesterday we noted how a domain speculator picked a Pope domain that Rick dropped way back in 2014, registering it again two days before Pope Leo XIV was selected as the new, American Pope.
While PopeThomas.com makes little sense currently, perhaps PopeRobert.com does. The new Pope’s earthly name is Robert Prevost and while one should not address him by that name it is still a fact.
The registrant of PopeRobert.com picked yet another Rick Schwartz drop, as the Domain King registered that one in 2013 and dropped it the following year. The new registrant built out a nice lander for the domain so make sure you check it out.
Final note: Pope domains do have potential so let’s see how well the Sedo auction of PopeLeoXIV.com does!
