Rick Schwartz knew better: BP disaster far from over

A lot of environment-conscious Americans rejoiced when the notorious BP spill got plugged, after nearly three months of non-stop oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico.

It was also a time that many domainers seized the opportunity to register various domains related to the disaster, or related to BP – the oil giant behind this oil catastrophe.

Rick Schwartz was open about his domain registrations related to the oil spill; some of Rick’s domains reputedly made $$$ from the very beginning, as a result of search engine activity and type-ins related to the BP oil spill.

A partial list of Rick’s domains includes the following:

bpspill.com
oilspillingulf.com
gulfspill.com
bpoilspill.org
gulfoilleak.com
bpspill.org
bpoilslick.com
gulfcoastoilcleanup.com
gulfoilcleanup.com
gulfoilleak.com
bplivefeed.com

Apparently, the tragic accident in the Gulf is far from over.

Scientists have uncovered that the majority of the oil has not dispersed into the ocean and has not been eaten up by microbes that feed on oil. Since it was prevented from washing ashore, the majority of the oil went where naturally heavier liquids and murk settle: at the bottom of the ocean floor.

Thus, as long as this environmental disaster continues to make headlines, more money will end up in the pockets of assertive domainers that were faster than BP, both at registering domains and at plugging the oil leak.
