Rick Schwartz unleashes Fury via commentary update

Earlier today, a person signing as Mason Cole of Oversee made a statement at Rick Schwartz’s blog – concerning the expected unveiling of the Moniker employee who violated company regulations:

“This is a human resources matter. Accordingly, Oversee is unable to discuss it publicly.”

By the end of business day today, Rick Schwartz was expected – per his statement – to unveil the name of the perpetrator, unless they came forward or Moniker/Oversee publicized the details of the incident.

It seems that a lot of unjustified heat is ending up on the messenger, Rick Schwartz, who is justifiably infuriated by the lack of a statement and/or punishment of the culprit.

Says Rick:

“I have done as much bell ringing as I care to do at the moment. I think it is on domainers to DEMAND the information. I have taken arrows for even this.”

And he continues:

“SICKENING! It’s a crime to watch a company that Monte built with GREAT and LOYAL folks be held prisoner to some corporate nonsense. I have read it was a bad call, a mistake, bad judgment by this employee. Fine, I never asked the employee to be fired. I did ask him to come forward. His employer hides behind some mumbo jumbo and he just hides.

Finally, Rick Schwartz sends a clear message to Moniker/Oversee:

“I never thought I would move my domains from Moniker. During the Halvarez scandal I moved 250 as a protest. But now, now I have to seriously consider going thru the ordeal of moving nearly 5000 others.”

When the domain king is unleashing fury it is time for everyone to listen – or take cover! Choose your side.

It appears that Oversee’s practice is to protect their employees, not their customers.

    Howard – happy new year.

What concerns me is this: in a corporation, such violations are indeed the subject matter of the HR department – as long as they remain internal. This is not an internal matter anymore, as it’s public and as such there are other things at stake.

There is a lapse of ethics, and there is a violation of privacy with potential monetary ramifications. I would expect the company to alleviate itself from the justified wrath of domainers by delivering some sort of justice – definitely within a timeframe that would retain trust towards the company. They are shooting themselves in the foot, instead.

Yikes! I may be a small-time domainer, but I do have a good chunk of domains with Moniker. It’s one thing to have a scandal like this occur twice in a year (Halvarez and this), but it’s another to sweep one under the carpet.

    This is just bad business.

PS. I am NOT Mason Cole from Oversee.net

If you want to move your freaking domains out of moniker…MOVE THEM…it’s your freaking domains…but PLEASE stop bit*ching…

    he said this…she said that….i’m going to do this…i’m going to do that…you better come forward…show your face…dont hide…SHUT THE FU*CK UP…..P L E A S E…

THIS IS NOT A MURDER CASE!!!

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

So what you’re saying is they would rather oversee themselves into extinction than replace some non-loyal clown shoe?

  6. Anon says:

Anunt, it seems from your numerous posts bitching about the amount of bitching that you’re concerned about the amount of bitching. I’d really appreciate it if you’d stop bitching about it. Thanks.

Seriously, though, if you don’t like reading the posts, then stop reading them. Simple huh? If that’s too complex, take a sharp pen and puncture your eyeballs.

Now i got blood all over my keyboard…hope your happy…

hmm…tastes great…my eyeball taste like donuts…i knew my eyes were glazed.

This is one person and one domain. It IS an HR incident in my opinion.

Let’s pretend an employee at hostgator rips off a single customer – does the entire industry go nuts and start flipping out?

Of course not, but then again the web hosting industry doesn’t have a “hall of fame” and isn’t full of self important people dying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

  9. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

Anunt & Anon – You two know eachother? 😀

Mark – Let’s pretend your girlfriend was a church goer but screwed the priest behind your back – would the entire parish be justified in going nuts and flipping out?

    =========================================

I heard that happened to Mark …
