Russian invasion: Domainer (.)guru is now gone

With the floodgates of general availability wide open for a range of Donuts, Inc. gTLDs, it’s expected to be a grand success for several of them.

Forget the main keywords such as radio.guru or ‘hacks’ such as fixmy.bike, they are all gone; even generics such as banana.guru and orgasm.guru – the latter went to a fertility clinic.

Oh yeah, end-users are snapping up those beauties as we speak.

As we reported yesterday, John Yeomans now owns DomainName.guru; today, someone from Russia registered Domainer.guru as well.

At the time of writing this article, DomainerGuru.com is available.

When registering .guru domain names, one has to remember that as a gTLD the word “guru” acts as an adjective, describing an object.

For example, “Photography Guru” is accurate, but “Photographer Guru” is not; the proper variant would be “Guru Photographer.” In the same sense, “Guru Domainer” is accurate, while “Domainer Guru” is not.
