Steamdeck.com: Portable PC from #Valve rides on HugeDomains sale!

Valve, operators of the Steam gaming platform, announced the launch of Steam Deck, a $399+ portable PC.

“We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck’s custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.”

Steam Deck will be available for shipping in December 2021 and Valve is already taking pre-orders at its matching .com domain, SteamDeck.com.

The domain was recently sold by HugeDomains, and a quick search shows that they grabbed it in 2019 at a drop.

How much did SteamDeck.com sell for?

This is the best part: $3,995 dollars, a pretty “standard” price from HugeDomains. The truth is that Valve is a multi-billion dollar company that can most likely afford paying six to seven figures for the domain!

Then again, Valve either failed or neglected to acquire the domain Steam.com that was sold six months ago via GoDaddy to an unrelated buyer, for $390,650 dollars.

390k for steam.com, you would think valve would jump on it… But corporations are funny and the right people have to be interested.
