Thunderbolt.com: App by Spaceship promises secure calls using your domain

Spaceship has announced a new app for encrypted communications called Thunderbolt, operating from the domain Thunderbolt.com.

Thunderbolt allows for the connection of one’s domain name to communicate with others securely, thus eliminating the need for remembering user names and passwords. Setting up DNS records properly can be done via the Spaceship platform.

The Thunderbolt app is now connected to Spaceship’s app launchpad:

Richard Kirkendall, CEO of Spaceship, stated:

“Just released our Thunderbolt app into production at Spaceship. Make encrypted calls and send messages using only your domain as your identifier.

Soon you’ll also be able to create private networks on your domain to connect your friends, your hobbies and interests and more all under the control of your domain name. Finally more usability for domain names beyond just an email or your website. Your domain will be at the heart of all of your communications. Stay tuned!”

The app claims that breaking into such a layer of authentication is virtually impossible, as the domain name’s records are the ones authorizing connections.
