Trains, Planes and Automobiles (dot co)

There’s no doubt that a new TLD re-introduces the full range of keywords to the domain pool.

The newest ccTLD on the planet is .CO and it’s already creating a pool of 310,000 registrations, according to the latest metrics at CoInternet.co

As usual, the Registry kept some names in their stack of reserves, including Trains.co and Planes.co

Automobiles.co however, was released and someone registered it, despite the use of the word being an outdated reference to cars.

Meanwhile, Aeroplanes.co was released and so did Cowboys.co which brings us to the next question:

Will Aeroplanes.co and Cowboys.co get developed soon, thus taking over the virtual space that the respective .com domains have failed to occupy?

If you recall, the Cowboys.com fiasco took a powerful keyword and reduced it to an empty western saloon, with not so much as an iota of development towards that project.

In the same fashion, Aeroplanes.com has been sitting on its “brand new logo” page for 8+ months, despite the “Coming soon” message.

Bottom line: the .CO keyword pool presents numerous opportunities for developers to present a fresh start and rejuvenate the domain industry that’s been sitting on its laurels for so long.

What if you are wrong?? co will be like mobi
By next year, all the dot co will drop like pigeon shit.

Please do not count the ducks before they quark.

BullS – the .co has an obvious advantage: it almost spells like .com

By now domain investors should have learned that when a new TLD comes out, not all words are equal or worthy of registration. However, due to the proximity to .com the advantage is there; one can register domains for the typo-traffic of the respective .com as well.

About pigeon shit, the Domain King owns the .co 😀

    That is A BIG disadvantage!!!

Regulars will think it is a typo and furthermore, buying dot co is supporting the drug lords, rebels, and the terrorists of corrupted Columbia.
How much money is given back to the poor local people of Columbia.?

Why don’t you ask the ordinary people on the street, is dot co a valid name? All the regular ordinary people on the street only knows dot com.

  4. Raman says:

.co domain can make its equal value like .com in near future. Domains like Sex.co, Business.co, Register.co or Authentication.co has natural value even in future 2 words .co domains will get its value for sure.

    Lucius,

So correct. how anyboby is comparing .mobi , .me or .tel to .co is beyond me. Clearly, .co makes the most sense out of all of them.

    Bulls,

Of course there will be lots of drops next year, that’s not rocket science. .co has already established some market share and that’s the important part. It will continue to grow.

  6. Air says:

Funny they kept planes.co and released the most important one: Airplanes.co
Wanted to get it, but it’s taken.

  7. Marty L says:

It depends on your own branding and what it is your using it for . Dot co will create some demand, will drop of course for those looking for the flip. Dot me got some traction with those who have interests in creating brands.

  8. I just came across this article. It had me laughing indeed.

Yes, Aeroplanes.com did take a bit longer to launch than we had anticipated as we had to research and test many comcepts and technologies. We were quite close to launch many times, only to discover holes in the business plan.

I am very pleased to annouce that Aeroplanes.com was launched earleir this month. Check it and use it to save time and money on your next trip.
