We reached out to Andorra Telecom to clarify certain parts of their Terms and Conditions that the FAQ does not cast much light on—in particular, how .ad domains can be resold.
Sales of .ad domains are allowed under reasonable circumstances but come with clear limitations.
If you register a domain such as Example.ad for legitimate use, such as to represent your business, organization, or trademark, you may later transfer or sell it as part of a business sale or brand acquisition.
What the .ad Registry prohibits is domain trafficking: the act of registering domains primarily for resale, speculation, or profit, often in bulk or at inflated prices.
In other words, occasional transfers tied to genuine business activity are acceptable, but systematic domain flipping & sales are not. The rule aims to preserve the integrity of the .ad namespace and ensure that its use remains authentic, not exploitative.
Because of this rule, ownership data for .ad domains is tied to the person or company that register them and updates are also linked to the requirements mentioned above.
Keep in mind that while many domain marketplaces forbid the listing of .ad domains for sale, the availability of such listings is still bound to the .ad Registry requirements about transfers.
