If you buy and sell domains and other digital goods using PayPal, your account might have been restricted earlier today.
PayPal sent out notices to apparently thousands of legitimate accounts, seeking the provision of a personal ID and information about their “suppliers.” The message looks like this:
“We noticed some significant changes to your account activity. We require some information from you to understand this kind of account activity better. We’ve also temporarily limited certain features in your PayPal account.”
As seen on the PayPal community forum, there are numerous complaints about the same issue, leaving users with incomplete transactions.
Until this is resolved, your PayPal account will be limited. Let’s hope that this is a bad glitch and not some real attempt by PayPal to collect massive amounts of information.
