GoDaddy’s new ultra-premium marketplace, DomainNames.com, is on fire.
Since its quiet debut, the platform has swelled to an amazing 145 domains, marking a 31.82% surge since launch, a feat that GoDaddy management describes as “unprecedented growth” in the premium domain names category.
According to GoDaddy, the marketplace remains invitation-only for sellers, though the company encourages domain owners to submit their best digital assets for consideration. There seems to be a backlog of domains to approve, per our latest information. Either that, or domain owners are holding back submitting thousands of premium domains.
At GoDaddy, optimism runs high:
“We’re seeing exceptional engagement, phones haven’t stopped ringing!” exclaimed Bo Brandis, head of Premium Growth Strategy at GoDaddy, adding: “Our goal is to double this momentum every year until 2050. Premium domains will be around forever, so that’s a tangible goal.”
If the current growth pace continues, domain analysts predict DomainNames.com could exceed 500 listings before the end of the decade; a milestone that will keep GoDaddy shareholders happy.
