NamesCon 2025: The Miami conference was a huge success

NamesCon 2025 in Miami, Florida was a huge success; the shared floor-space with CloudFest was a great experiment that presented new opportunities.

Domain investors and content creators had the ability to tap into a wealth of resources and navigate the agenda using a solid mobile app. The sessions were on time and packed with meaningful content, all thanks to the great selection of speakers and panelists.

Proximity to a range of downtown hotels, including the preferred Marriott and Hilton, allowed everyone to take a quick free shuttle ride or Lyft/Uber in under 10 minutes—even during peak traffic hours. The event’s floor plan offered numerous spots for everyone to have private discussions or even personal time in isolation.

Food, snacks, and beverages were always available. And if you spilled your coffee on your shirt, as I did, Nick from Core4 Solutions saved the day with a Tide stick, something to carry along from now on.

Vendor booths were fun to visit, from smaller companies to large corporations that sponsored key entry points. There was a constant flow of visitors that had conversations and exchanged ideas and personal feedback. The space never felt crowded, despite an estimated attendance of 1,400 people.

Old domainer friends reunited after many years of not being present to a domain conference, present company included! Surprise participants were also appreciated for making the move and transforming an online-only chatter into an in-person gathering. Naturally, those that did not make it to NamesCon were missed; you know who you are! 😉

The event’s official parties were “quietly” joined by pre-parties and after-parties organized by vendors. Soon, everyone had the opportunity to unwind after a full day at the NamesCon grounds and have some fun.

While some of us miss the allure of Las Vegas, Miami has its own magnetism and nice weather this time of the year, along with some very aggressive drivers on the road!

The closing night party offered great food, space to sit down and talk, and a phenomenal performance by Barcelona’s group The Serial Killerz that rocked the stage for 2 and a half hours. It truly felt like a rock concert with everyone throwing their best moves dancing to the band’s beats.

I’d like to thank the event’s organizers for truly delivering what was promised, keeping everyone engaged and happy. Special thanks to Murphy Pressley and her team for coordinating everything professionally and giving me the opportunity to attend my first NamesCon since 2017 in Las Vegas.

Miami, baby! See you all in 2026. 😀

  1. I thought it was a great conference. Some of the people did not like that the venue was not connected to the hotel. I thought it was a good thing because a lot of people did not leave, which kept it busy, and allowed for more networking and meetings. Most importantly great to see old friends and make some new ones. Great seeing you, Theo!

Jeff – It was great to see you and I agree 100%. The venue not being adjacent to the hotel provided a much-needed dynamic to the event.
