I’m sure you’ve read about the new venture by Francois of Domaining.com – it’s called BargainDomains.com
Essentially, it’s a new marketplace with a lower revenue goal than typical domain selling platforms, which often delusion domainers with high reserve prices.
In fact, the domains listed there are especially priced for domainers – who *love* good deals – as much as 30% lower than their Valuate.com estimated value.
Incidentally, Valuate.com is yet another brainchild of Francois; or of his nephew, according to our research.
It works; Francois also created a banner about BargainDomains that is so large, it was tested at IMAX theaters first.
One slight problem: the banner includes images of oranges and lemons, as if it were a popular market stand, selling fruit.
Lemons?
Hold on, Francois.
A “lemon” reference is indicative of a “bad deal” or of an item that appears pretty on the outside but it’s sour or ruined on the inside. Although people like lemonade because it contains sugar. Or something like that.
So, Francois, take those lemons out of the banner – that’s our free marketing advice of the day 😀
Hahaha, I personally like the oranges and lemons 🙂
With sugar or plain? 😀
I had a good laugh with:
“… created a banner about BargainDomains that is so large, it was tested at IMAX theaters first.”
The story behind lemons and oranges:
I wanted an attractive image of people fighting to get the latest discounted items in a store doing big discounts, but I did not found it.
So the second idea was find a very colored image of stuff for sale and finish picking a lemons picture, don’t ask me why.
It’s the picture I used in a first time in the header of the site, but quickly I received a mail telling me the use of lemons was not a good idea because lemons were synomym of bad deals for Americans.
Grrr… exactly the inverse I wanted to spread!
So I decided to change it to oranges.
“Naranjas y limones: Viva Murcia!”
“I wanted an attractive image of people fighting to get the latest discounted items in a store doing big discounts, but I did not found it.”

Francois,
Black Friday is next week here in the USA.
It’s the Friday after Thanksgiving aka November 27.
All you have to do is ask or hire someone with a digital camera to stand outside
one of the big department or electronic stores and wait until it opens early AM.
Then you will get the photo you want although I don’t know if you could call a photo
of people trampling over each other “attractive”.
Read this New York Times article on Black Friday from last year:

Thanks Francois for the JUICY story 😀 It’s definitely appetizing, in terms of colors 😀
