The auction of the dropped domain Spend.com is closing today, three days after it was caught by DropCatch for the cost of a reg fee!
We covered the domain’s path to expiration and its original sale via Sedo.
It’s quite rare for an ultra-premium, aged, generic .com domain to drop and this one attracted several end-user buyers. It also attracted bogus bids, going to hundreds of thousands of dollars, apparently.
Today, DropCatch operators appear to have deleted a series of fake bids, restructuring the top bidding line, as seen below:
It seems that while “sharma” is a legitimate and most likely verified bidder, others were not. In the capture above, fake bids have been removed.
With one hour and a half left until the end of the auction, Spend.com has now attracted higher bids, exceeding $800,000 dollars.
DropCatch user “sharma” is persisting:
Could it be that Dharmesh Shah is one of the bidders for Spend.com?
