The seas are rising due to global warming; at this rate, many islands of the Pacific will be underwater or deeply drenched in a few decades.
Tuvalu is one such nation, witnessing its land levels sink by 0.2 inches every year. Its 11,000 inhabitants will have to be relocated eventually, as its highest point lies just 15ft above sea level. Tuvalu will have to find a way to operate as a sovereign nation even then.
Floaters, perhaps?
With that transition, dot .TV will have to be moved on higher ground, one might think.
But wait: that’s already done, as dot .TV is on a lease to Verisign that has been managing Tuvalu’s ccTLD domain for the past decade. That contract is expected to be renewed, so all your precious .TV domains are safe. 😀
