Escrow.com, the world’s most trusted online licensed escrow service for high-value domain transactions, has released its Domain Investment Index report for the second quarter (Q2/2025) of this year. This important quarterly report takes the pulse of the domain industry’s metrics and trends.

The platform facilitated $89.85 million in domain sales during the quarter, pushing total domain transactions for the first half of the year to $196.85 million — a 9.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
One of the standout stories of the quarter is the surge in .ai domain sales, which hit a new record of $4.5 million in Q2, up from $3.48 million in Q1. This milestone underscores the growing demand for domains tied to artificial intelligence.
For the first time, the Escrow.com report also shines a light on the value of domains featuring an English word, offering exclusive data never before published, adding a fresh layer of insight into the global domain market metrics.

In Q2/2025, .ai domain names reached another all-time high as transaction volume rose from $3.48 million to $4.49 million, a 29.02% increase.

In Q2/2025, data published for the first time showed that the mean value of a .com domain consisting of a single English word was $259,325 USD.
Overall, domain names containing English words represented the majority of observed volume, though they eased to $74.5 million from $89.5 million. In contrast, domains without English words increased to $2 million from $870,000.
