Today was the day that Uniregistry rolled out its first two gTLDs, dot .Sexy and dot .Tattoo.
Despite some glitches being reported that apparently caused the delay of processing pre-orders by various accredited registrars, the end results should be satisfying.
We used 101Domain.com for all successful registrations from today’s batch.
According to the official data as presented in the zone files, the numbers were as follows:
.Sexy 1,985 domains in the zone file.
.Tattoo 676 domains in the zone file.
Looking forward to see how the rest of the week unfolds, considering how today’s results are based on barely 11.5 hours of registration activity.
That’s not even $100K…
speculatr – That’s about $99k more than what I made today.
Actually that is about $25k for uniregistry.
This looks very bad. Very very bad.
Kosta – Obviously, revenue estimate isn’t the only factor that determines whether a gTLD of 1/2 a day is a success or not. There has been zero promotion, for that matter, and in my opinion this can turn viral. Let’s look at the numbers a week from now.
I am more than certain Frank will make his investment back and profit from it in the long run.
Having said that I don’t think GTLDs will become a success nor a long term viable alternative.
Nice site gutters!
