Escrow.com, the quintessential escrow service for asset transactions that include domain names, released its quarterly results.
The latest Domain Investment Index report covers Q4 of 2020, the final fiscal quarter of last year. It’s great to see analytical domain stats and figures from Escrow.com, a DomainGang sponsor, so early in 2021.
According to the Escrow.com report, the total transacted domain name amount continues to show signs of recovery from the impact of the pandemic – with a strong Q4 of $93.8 million compared to $77.5 million in Q3.
Domain sales over $50,000 dollars increased, as Fortune 500 companies relaxed controls on capital expenditure.
The majority of the increase in volume comes from the US where total transactions increased to from $58 million in Q3 to $77.9 million in Q4. China however has dropped from $9.2 million to$4.3 million.
The median price return rate, while it remains positive, is slightly lower, decreasing from 20% in Q3 2020 to 16.67% in Q4 2020.
Two and three character .com domain name median price increased again in Q4 2020 with a current median price at $531.6k dollars.
