The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Ukrainian law enforcement have seized the domains of nine digital currency exchanges, which were allegedly aiding cybercriminals.
In a coordinated effort, the FBI’s Detroit Field Office and the National (Cyber)Police of Ukraine obtained court authorization to shut down the websites of these virtual currency exchange services and take control of the respective domain names.
The seized domains include 24xbtc.com, 100btc.pro, pridechange.com, trust-exchange.org, and bitcoin24.exchange.
These sites were providing anonymous digital currency exchange services, avoiding regulations required for licensed crypto exchanges, aiding criminal activities.
The websites now display a seizure notice from the authorities, preventing access to their services.
