The domain name Loom.com is being used by a company that allows users to record and share video, with a variety of extra gimmicks.
The company functioned between 2017 to 2018 using the domain UseLoom.com, all while they moved forward with trademarking the Loom part.
Getting the domain Loom.com seemed impossible at first and when the holders, a SaaS company agreed to sell at $75,000 dollars, they went silent prior to the signing of a contract; there was another buyer that was willing to pay up to $500,000 dollars for the domain.
In an amazing strike of luck, the Loom founders were able to negotiate a payout to the contender, giving the company $75,000 in order to rebrand and retract their offer. It took an extra $75,000 dollars to the domain’s seller for this amazing combination of luck and persistence to become a reality.
For a grand total of $150,000 dollars, Loom.com became the new name of UseLoom.com. The story was shared on Twitter by Shahed Khan, co-founder of Loom.
