HUK TUAH: Norwegian entrepreneur upset they didn’t grab HUK.com

It’s been a rough week for Niklas Reinke Kaarlson, founder of HUK|TUAH Group AS, a New Hampshire formed start-up that leverages Norwegian trust funds.

Kaarlson had his eyes set on the domain HUK.com, a three letter .com that fits his company’s vision as a forward-looking, established Nordic corporation.

“We had been negotiating with the owners of HUK.com for at least three days, aiming at securing it for ourselves and our US operations,” said Niklas Reinke Kaarlson, visibly dejected.

“Then, a lesser-known company specializing in fishermen’s fashion sidestepped us, taking the domain instead. I blame Saw.com brokerage for this failure of us in negotiating a cheaper sale, as they convinced their buyer to put more money down. I am disappointed!” exclaimed Niklas Kaarlson.

The Norwegian conglomerate is now forced to keep using its HUKTUAH.com domain name which is considerably longer.

“If I had to rebrand I would probably take a look at Saw.com as they beat us to the game, plus their own brand runs on a three letter .com,” said Niklas Reinke Kaarlson laughing out loud. “At least, we now know more money is needed for such domain, yes?”
