The winner of the domain PDN.com at DropCatch forked out an eye-watering $143,000 dollars. The former asset of chef celebrity, Paula Deen, expired and dropped; the ensuing three day auction at DropCatch led to a stunningly high price.
So who won the auction of PDN.com?
Rabbitsfoot is the account holder at DropCatch and the domain resolves to a rather basic landing page with a “Comming Soon” message. The WHOIS information is public; the domain’s registrant is listed as Mr. Deepak Ramani of New York.
It has to be the busy entrepreneur and founder of BrandX, who has systematically acquired and relaunched a series of brands: Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Goody’s, Herberger’s, Peebles, and Younkers.
The BrandX company operates from BrandX.com, although the WHOIS info for PDN.com shows RBrand.com as the managing domain; it does not resolve to a web site.
Mr. Ramani also heads the Ramani Group, a real estate development and property management firm.
Either way, this is a massive domain acquisition of the youngest LLL .com in the known cosmos!
