Dady.com: Dropped domain crosses $32k in auction

Bring on your daddy jokes! Dady.com, with a missing “d”, expired, dropped, and DropCatch has it.

The auction for Dady.com, a domain originally registered in *gasp* 1997, has crossed the $32,000 threshold, attracting several bidders.

What exactly attracts bids to the Dady.com auction?

Not only it’s a CVCV domain, it’s also a last name in the US with a Saxon origin. We can’t imagine what these kids with the last name of “Dady” suffered through school though, “who’s your daddy” being an apparent favorite.

It’s unfortunate that the domain Dady.com dropped from the possession of its Germany-based registrant, Mehrdad Rashidi.

It appears that Dady is also a fun nickname in Middle Eastern cultures and Iran in particular. Past content from Dady.com is a series of presumably anti-western text and YouTube video links and eventually it turned into a German project for orphaned children.

Regardless of past usage, the domain is now going to become an intangible asset available for resale, once the auction’s winner pays, of course. The auction ends in less than 24 hours.

Will you be its daddy? 🙂

Update: The domain auction closed at $35,000 dollars.
