Domain politics: Forward Party rebrands from a .com #domain name to .org

The Forward Party, an American political action committee that is a merger of the Serve America Movement, (SAM) and the Renew America Movement, has rebranded itself.

Called simply Forward as of July 27th, the centrist political party has moved away from the active domain ForwardParty.com, apparently.

That domain was acquired in late 2020 for $3,999 dollars. Source: NameBio. The Forward Party’s co-founder, Andrew Yang, went public in October 2021 with the (then) new domain name and brand.

It seems that this has changed again as on July 27, 2022, the new domain was announced as being FWDtogether.org.

After years of working in parallel to strengthen our democracy, we are thrilled to announce that we are merging with @RenewAmerica & @samforus!

We are uniting to build a new political party that will adopt the #ForwardParty name. fwdtogether.org

While ForwardParty.com is still active, the transition from a .com domain to a .org can be confusing, particularly as the domain FWDtogether.com appears to be an insurance company based in the Philippines, that was registered in 2015.

FWDtogether.org was registered just a week ago. Meanwhile, the domain FWD.us is being used by a bi-partisan organization on a domain sold via Sedo.
