A decade ago, the introduction of new gTLDs opened the floodgates to some really odd extensions, one of which is dot .fish.
As part of a balanced diet, fish is great to eat on a regular basis and decided to try this barramundi sea bass from Vietnam. Unlike Drew Rosener, I didn’t fly there for dinner; the fish is offered by Sprouts.
It was delicious, fleshy with a great texture. Noticing the domain name Better.fish on the back of the package I had to take a couple of pictures in another domain sighting instance. 🙂
The domain is being used as a URL forward to BetterFish.com, a company founded in 2004 that sources the barramundi sea bass in Asia.
What’s a “domain sighting,” you may ask.
It’s when we encounter domain names in the real world, that appear on vehicle wraps and signs, billboards and business signs, and product packaging. For convenience, we group them into .com domain sightings, and other ccTLDs, gTLDs and TLDs.
