The domain Gaijin.com has had a successful life, ever since its registration by creative person, Brandon Harris, in 1995.
Unlike many generic domains registered early, this one wasn’t parked or hoarded for the three decades that passed since.
Harris was hit with a C&D in 2013, after a Russian games developer formed in 2002 claimed rights to the GAIJIN mark. The Russians filed a UDRP eventually, believing that the Gaijin.com registrant would fail to respond.
Brandon Harris lawyered up and won the UDRP for Gaijin.com, after also telling the Complainant to “sit and spin.”
That was in 2014.
Fast-forward a decade later and the domain has now changed hands, in an apparent sale that took place in the summer of 2023. We’re not aware of the particulars of this exchange but the new web site at Gaijin.com is Japan-themed and all about Japanese restaurants in Asia:
Gaijin.com is a great domain and an even better brand and it comes as no surprise that it changed hands, eventually.
We hope that it was for a good amount of money!
