In mid-December, GoDaddy auctioned off a tiny portion of its NameFind portfolio of domain names.
These domains were acquired over the years at various times, such as the Marchex and Elite Domains portfolios along with that of Frank Schilling’s.
If you think that the auctioned domains were not exactly spectacular, you are not alone. The list contained mostly second tier one word .com domains, some good two word .com domains, dictionary word .co domains, and a bunch of LLL .net and .org domain names. Of course, there was the occasional gem or two added as a digital carrot.
GoDaddy’s NameFind auctions performed well apparently, in the sense that untapped cash capital is now sitting comfortably at the GD financial vault. We believe that come next quarter, GoDaddy will present a financial report that excels in the so-called “core services” department; revenue derived from domain registrations and sales of domains via its marketplace.
GoDaddy isn’t resting on its laurels and wants to milk the cow until the very last moments of 2023. It has now taken a portion of the unsold NameFind auction domains and added BIN prices to them!
The only way to get that price, however, is to search via GoDaddy.com—these BIN prices don’t appear on the domain landers, or even Afternic.
