Danube Tech GmbH has launched GoDiddy, a hosted platform that makes it easy for SSI developers and solution providers to work with DIDs.
What are DIDs?
Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) are a new type of identifier that is persistent, cryptographically verifiable, and decentralized; that is, independent of any central authority or intermediary. Such identifiers enable trustable connections and communication in digital relationships.
Operating from the domain name GoDiddy.com, the company appears to have acquired the domain in early 2019 but launched the service in late 2022.
Markus Sabadello, Danube Tech CEO, talked about the GoDiddy SaaS product in an interview to Europe’s eSSIF-Lab publication.
Of course, the name and brand “GoDiddy” is uncomfortably close to GoDaddy and while not exactly a typo, it returns prompts by Google to switch queries to the largest domain registrant’s name instead.
