Horrible Bosses 2: Warner Bros dropped N-word domain

The year is 2014 and Warner Bros produced Horrible Bosses 2, follow-up to Horrible Bosses and perhaps one of the funniest comedies ever to feature Jennifer Anniston.

This time, Nick, Kurt, and Dale decide to start their own business with a new product—a shower gadget called the “Shower Buddy.”

Picking a company name from their first names wasn’t a great idea, however, as the matching .com, NickKurtDale.com, doesn’t sound too distinct from the N-word as this awkward scene attests:

In anticipation of the people’s reaction to the scene, Warner Bros actually pre-registered the domain Niggerdale.com. The domain was kept for a decade but in 2023 it was dropped by the movie giant.

Last week, someone picked it up and created a lander explaining the “true” meaning of the word.

Warner Bros also registered the phonetic equivalent, NickKurtDale.com. That domain was also dropped in 2023 and was snapped up via DropCatch; it’s currently parked on a zero click lander.

Meanwhile, MotherfuckerJones.com was never secured by Warner Bros.

Moral of the story: Always perform a radio test for your domain. It might not sound what it looks like.
