NameBio has been tracking domain sales from reputable sources, becoming the most organized database of transactions in the domain industry.
The platform is attacked by scraping bots all the time; to lower such garbage traffic, NameBio imposes limits on the data presented to non-logged in accounts. Other measures include jumbling up or “poisoning” the data for scrapers.
The latest measure blurs all sales past the first 5 results, whether it’s recently reported domain sales or the results of a keyword search:
That’s a fun way to thwart data scrapers! 🙂
Registrations are free, and there are 3 tiers of membership with various capabilities so make sure you are logged in to take advantage of the domain sales data NameBio provides.
When you care about bots more than you care about human visitors…
I pay NameBio so I don’t have to deal with this.
But they’re so obtuse that they don’t explain on the website how to un-blur it. Why not say “Please log in to remove the blur.”
So 90% of visitors think “what a useless and annoying website. Not coming back here again.”
The namebio site is rapidly going downhill and just setting itself on fire.
Brutal incompetence.
