Sometimes it’s hard to imagine how a top fashion domain, such as MensStyle.com, gets to drop.
The domain was owned by Advance Magazine Group, a New York subsidiary of Advance Publications, Inc. The publisher giant operates from the ultra premium domain Advance.com; the company owns more than 3,000 domains in its corporate portfolio. Among their gems is GQ Magazine.
It’s not clear why this 2002 domain about men’s style was allowed to drop. It was auctioned off on DropCatch, where it attracted a total of 83 bids from 56 bidders.
The winner of the auction for MensStyle.com, is DropCatch account “peosteos” who got the domain for a very nice $2,509 dollars!
This is a bargain price for the keywords and the history behind MensStyle.com. When developed, the domain could be worth mid to high five figures, or more.
Advance’s portfolio of companies includes Condé Nast, Advance Local, American City Business Journals, Leaders Group, Stage Entertainment, Turnitin, 1010data, and POP. Advance is also among the largest shareholders in Discovery, Charter Communications, and Reddit.
