The domain name Llama.com is resolving to the homepage for LLaMA, the open-source AI model created by Meta, Inc.
Meta introduced LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI) in February 2023. LLaMA was designed to be a powerful tool for researchers, offering capabilities similar to other large language models but with an emphasis on efficiency and accessibility.
Registered in 1994, Llama.com had a $9,999,999 dollar price tag previously; that asking price was set after the Meta launch, apparently; in 2019 the asking price was “just” $250,000 dollars.
There is no confirmation on the price which could have been negotiated down between the seller, PerfectDomain, and Meta.
