Monopoly is changing; after 85 years of keeping its Community Chest cards the same, they are about to become aligned with modern society’s norms.
Hasbro, makers of the iconic Monopoly game, decided to update its 16 Community Chest cards, that have been featuring outdated prompts such as winning a “beauty contest,” receiving a “tax refund,” or having a “bank error in your favor.”
With that in mind, the Monopoly makers want the community to vote on a series of candidate cards and do so by visiting MonopolyCommunityChest.com.
Visitors of the Monopoly Community Chest web site can decide on 16 pairs of cards, selecting either one and thus voicing their opinion for the next generation of Monopoly. Votes have to be cast before April 10th.
For the record, the domain was registered last October with corporate registrar MarkMonitor.
