New year, new gTLDs and dot .CFD is one of these rare new top level domains that is actually an acronym.
Its Registry, ShortDot, is rolling out dot .CFD as “Clothing, Fashion, Design.” It promotes the launch with the hashtag #ClothingFashionDesign.
Seriously now: A specialized gTLD for clothing brands, fashion designers, retailers, influencers, bloggers, consumers, and lifestyle eCommerce stores.
We can totally see Kim Kardashian being all over this. Or maybe not.
Dot .CFD will be launching in its Sunrise Phase, for trademark holders, on March 10, 2021. Sunrise will end on April 12, 2021. The launch will follow a rolling price model aimed at maximizing the Registry’s cash intake:
- Sunrise Registration: $700 Application Fee + Registration Fee
- Standard Registration Fee: $25
- Standard Renewal and Transfer Fee: $25.00
- EAP Access: Day 1 – $1000, Day 2 – $500, Day 3 – $250, Day 4 – $125, Day 5 – $100, Day 6 – $75, Day 7 – $50
If you are spammed non stop from .CYOU and .ICU domains it’s because the Registry offers them for $2 bucks. They plan to offer dot .CFD domains at $5 dollars, once EAP is over.
Maybe the Domain King will be elated, maybe not.
