Viva.com and More.com, a pair of phenomenal domains, were acquired by Greek fintech startup, Viva Wallet & Viva Services. The company operates from VivaWallet.com.
Haris Karonis, founder and CEO of the company, shared the news via LinkedIn, noting that Viva Wallet and Viva Services are propelling into “a dynamic new phase as separate entities.”
The domain Viva.com will now handle payments in 24 European countries, controlled by the founders and majority shareholders of 51.5%, Haris Karonis and Makis Antypas.
Meanwhile, the domain name More.com will provide online services, initially in 8 countries, formerly operating from Viva.gr. The company is wholly owned by its two founders.
Mr. Karonis noted that they chose to use 4 letter domain names because “size matters.” They also acquired the domain More.gr as well, from a Greek advertising company.
Both Viva.com and More.com were registered in 1994. More.com appears to have been acquired in March 2023, while Viva.com was potentially acquired in March of 2022. No details were disclosed regarding the cost for acquiring these domains.
Viva, now More.com, is the “most comprehensive ticketing platform in Greece and abroad,” with over 3,500 partners, 220,000+ productions, and 34+ million tickets sold. Source: More.com.
J.P. Morgan acquired 48.5% of the company in December 2022, with a “cash injection” of 100 million Euro.
