WeChat, the Chinese multi-purpose messaging, social media and mobile payment app has moved to a Chinese domain Registrar.
Transferring its primary domain, WeChat.com, away from MarkMonitor to eName is a clear demonstration of trust in China’s own ICANN accredited Registrar.
Two additional WeChat domains, QQ.chat and QQ.email are with a German and a Chinese Registrar respectively. China’s relations with the European Union have never been warmer.
