We read some extreme points from both Elliot Silver at his blog and also from Teen Domainer (the guy with the kewl avatar) – each side wants you to stop selling domains either to end-users and focus on domain investors, or vice versa.
Seeing this abhorring absolutism, we can’t but step in and take drastic action. Here’s what you should do, if you can’t make your mind up, as you should.
Instead of being torn between two seemingly inconclusive solutions, do the right thing and donate your domains to charity and be done with it.
When one approaches things in a way that requires single focus, versus keeping an open mind, then it’s clear that one is not carved for the specific job and are instead part of a club with domaining as their main hobby.
Viva diversity!
Lol Love the post, I am not saying to not sell domains to domain investors just to try and contact endusers. The title seems a little misleading, but I had to get people to read it. 🙂
Thanks for the compliment on the logo!!
You’re welcome, TD 😀 Now, where is Elliot, we can have fun on “neutral” ground 🙂
“donate your domains to charity and be done with it”
Yes.
I have just set up several charities for domain donations.
.COM only and don’t be cheap with the good stuff!
DonateYourDomains.com (and .org)
Domains4Kids.com (and .org)
DonateDomainGetTaxDeduction.com (and .org)
or
DDGTD.com (and .org)
I have hired the same accounting firm used by Bernie Madoff so you know
your domain donations will be used for good things.*
*for me!
Looks like Elliot doesn’t read DomainGang 😀 A shame, because we at DomainGang love you all equally.
Patrick, that’s a beautiful idea, driven by capitalism. Down with the Red Square, up with the Red Cross!
Thank you so much for the idea Lucius.
The domain donations have been poring in to the three non-nonprofits I set up.
Most of the domain donations have been going to DonateDomainGetTaxDeduction.com.
I guess everyone needs those tax deductions.
A certain domainer with the initials R.L. (rhymes with Lick Ratona) has made the most donations
since he needs lots of tax deductions.
Lucius, this summer you and Giovanni are invited on my new yacht.
I’ll fly you both down on my new private jet.
Nelson Brady has already accepted.
He has lots of experience with boats.
“He has lots of experience with boats.”
You mean, sinking boats?
This is Elliot’s dog, Lucy.
Elliot is in the can right now (probably building a mini site or something since he’s been in there for so long). Ever since writing a post about blocking feeds on Domaining.com, Elliot blocked every other website except his own and didn’t see this. If I hadn’t stumbled upon your site looking up “shit bags” in The Google, I wouldn’t have seen this article.
By the way, kudos to Brian for jumping into this unforgiving domainer shark tank (test track) by blogging. There are too many old people who think they know everything in this business. Contrary to comments received on his blog, Elliot did not have any ill-intent towards Brian at all. He was just posting his opinion based on his experience.
Thanks Lucy. On the Internet, no one knows you are a dog.
