Back then, Father Domainicus chastised the registration of the domain BostonBomber.com and a year later, that anonymous registrant let it drop.
Soon enough, the domain was picked up at the drops, and now it’s being offered for sale at the price of $1,499 dollars via Sedo.
But who would buy such a domain, and what would they do with it?
Such domains that reflect a violent event resulting in human loss, are almost impossible to monetize, and hard to justify owning; unless, one is a direct victim of the disaster, or a lawyer managing the case.
Regardless, some domain investors do not seem to care when registering such domain names, and aren’t concerned about potential negative backlash about owning them. Another example, is TheBostonBomber.com, currently on sale for an unspecified amount.
