Everybody seems to love our president, Barack Obama, despite little progress with regards to the job market.
The US president has promised there is “light at the end of the tunnel“, but for the operators of a premium LLL .com domain and business, things aren’t looking so rosy.
On Thursday, president Obama delivered both his plan and budget regarding the US space program and it doesn’t seem that we’ll be seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger landing on Mars, the Red Planet, any time soon.
Having cut the NASA budget and several space initiatives, including that of the Space Shuttle which reaches its end of life this year, President Obama is bringing thousands of people currently employed at several supporting corporations face to face with the ugly monster of unemployment.
Meet the plight of ATK – a premier aerospace and defense company:
ATK was launched as a company in 1990 and expanded into the aerospace market with the acquisitions of Hercules Aerospace Company in 1995 and Thiokol Propulsion in 2001, which transformed the company into the world’s largest supplier of solid propellant rocket motors and a leading provider of high-performance composite structures.
With workers at more than 60 locations across 23 US states, ATK is the single provider of rocket boosters for the Space Shuttle program, bringing in tens of millions of dollars in NASA contracts. The company, ATK, faces closure in many of its facilities, having to lay off several thousand workers – some of which have been with the company for 25 or 30 years.
ATK – a really nice LLL .com by all means – could end up bankrupt due to the loss of expected revenue. With a single signature, president Obama has taken away not just the dreams of space exploration but also the earthly needs of thousands of workers in the space industry.

Mr. obama (the POS currently defiling the Oval Office) has destroyed just about everything else great in the country. Why should the space industry be any different???
Just wait, it is only a matter of time before the moron-in-chief targets the domain industry head-on, and those “evil domain name speculators”.
Hopefully the 2010 elections will make him a lame duck, and limit his powers to further destroy America.
…oh wait… Mr. obama was voted “Salesman of the year” for the gun industry… and I do believe that was a positive result.
want to read some interesting (and very bizarre) history read the history of JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) .. though they dont in fact own the LLL.com for JPL. but the forefather of solid state rocket fuel and US rocketry program was this dude named Jack “Whiteside” Parsons who started JPL, he was a practicing magician, and at one time was involved with L. Ron Hubbard (founder of Scientology) who eventually ran off with his wife and money. this is just the tip of the iceberg! 🙂
