Domain developer, Adolfo Grego, is the creator of intriguing digital linguistic art, in the form of interactive domain names, and a founding partner of Punto 2012, the Mexican company behind the launch of .Rest and .Bar.
Last year, we covered his online project, Simulating.Life, which he further shared with the public during NamesCon 2016 in Las Vegas.
This is an election year in the US, and Adolfo is back with a new project, making fun use of gTLD domains and the two major political parties, Democrat and Republican.
The project is called Democrat.And.Republican – or – Republican.And.Democrat, available at either URL.
If you’re passionate about politics, you can now get your own domain, in the form of *.and.Democrat or *.and.Republican.
Signing up is free, although to maintain the URL you have to either reclaim it every 21 days, or pay $29 for a full year of use.
For those who want to share with the world where they stand politically, the latter choice makes perfect sense:
“After you create or claim your profile, you can share it on your social media channels or even print it and take it with you. Start a conversation. Let the world know why this person is unworthy.and.democrat or dull.and.republican.”
For more information on this fun project by Adolfo Grego, visit Democrat.And.Republican – or – Republican.And.Democrat, and let the debate begin! 😀
what, no And.Libertarian? 😉
Mike – 😀 No such gTLD exists, alas. But you make a good point.
You can always become libertarian.and.democrat or libertarian.and.republican, but I’m not sure this can be considered an offence to certain libertarians, democrats or republicans.
Nowadays we can identify ourselves with the right or the left or with the center-left, center-right-to-the-left and right-center-left-to-the-right. We might eventually end up with “linebackers”, “Tight-Ends” and “Running-Backs”. Might be easier to understand who is which and what their interests are!
Thanks for sharing the story!
