Hollywood celebrity fans, rejoice!
Serial entrepreneur, fashionista and domain aficionado, Kim Kardashian, has reportedly ponied up the $135 million dollars for the dot .Web auction.
Citing sources close to the family, Domain Live Wire editor, Andrejus Allman stated:
“We believe it was Kim Kardashian who won the ICANN-mandated auction for dot .Web, as it’s the name of her new clothing and fashionable lingerie line.
Such massive branding opportunities come once in a lifetime, and Kim’s known to be a smart entrepreneur.”
Indeed, among fashion design circles, the reference to “Web” is that strange, inhospitable area of cyberspace, directly outside of Instagram, SnapChat, Twitter and Facebook.
Many Hollywood stars and fashion-setting celebrities shyly venture into the so-called “World Wide Web,” a relic from the early days of the Internet.
Some of them come back to solid ground hours later, visibly shaken.
“Here at Domain Live Wire, we’re confident Kim Kardashian’s joint venture with Verisign to manage dot .Web should provide an attractive marketing medium to every celebrity, including Taylor Swift,” stated Andrejus Allman, adding:
“Dot .Web might have cost $135 million dollars to win at the ICANN auction, but that’s practically peanuts among the rich and famous celebrities, don’t you think?”
It remains to be seen how soon dot .Web will be rolled out; ICANN might require a down-payment and Kim Kardashian’s fluidity relies on bootylicious images “leaked” on social media, and from now on, the Web.
