Registry Africa celebrated the delegation of dot .Africa, after numerous suits, counter-suits, oppositions and extra fun time with gTLD overseer, ICANN.
The new gTLD, dot .Africa, will encompass 54 official African countries and its 1.234 billion people, in the continent that is considered as the very cradle of the human civilization.
To celebrate the event and commemorate its final closure, ICANN re-released the famous Toto song from the 80’s, “Africa,” under a new title and with new lyrics.
Enjoy “Dot .Africa!” ๐
I hear Twitter drumming news tonight
Echoing whispers of some @ICANN delegation
Registry launch, it’s just about right
The multi-stakeholder model working for salvation
I stopped Fadi along the way
Hoping to hear some good news or other happy memories
He turned to me as if to say, “Get Gรถran Marby, waiting for you!”
It’s gonna take a lot to roll domains out for you!
There’s nothing that a hundred press releases could not do!
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
Gonna take some new gTLDs we never had!
The unbelievers will cry out at night
Growing restless, longing for some offshore company
I know that I must do what’s right
As sure as ICANN rises well above the Illuminati
I seek to prove what’s deep inside, frightened of the fees of ICANN
It’s gonna take a bunch to register domains for you!
There’s nothing that a hundred bureaucrats would not do!
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
Gonna take some new gTLDs we never had!
Chorus :
Dot .Africa, we’re waiting here for you!
It’s gonna take a lot of cash to roll them out for you!
There’s nothing that $185,000 dollars would not do!
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
(It rains domains)
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
(It rains domains)
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
It rains domains down, dot .Africa!
(Ah, gonna take some money)
Gonna take some money for gTLDs we never had …
