Sedo, a premium DomainGang sponsor, has released its GreatDomains auction results, topping $350,000 dollars in sales. We already covered the sale of two LL .de domain names for almost $150,000 dollars.
Here’s the press release that we received from Sedo:
I’d like to disclose the results and some of our takeaways from the GreatDomains Auction that wrapped up yesterday even though news of some of the bigger sales has already hit!
The October GreatDomains Auction was a huge success, with nearly 30 names sold, grossing over $350K and almost every name sold exceeded their reserve price, some nearly doubling it.
Several 3&4-character .coms like NFC.com, NOVO.com, YAL.com grabbed 5-figure price tags rounding out the top five sales, further supporting the continued value of the shorter domain name. Also of note is the number of bids accumulated, demonstrating the traffic all of these domains generated with over half the names getting some significant attention from a variety of interested buyers.
“We are especially pleased with the results of our October GreatDomains Auction. Our marquee auction event has and will continue to be the place to showcase outstanding quality domain names,” Sedo CSO, Matthias Meyer-Schönherr commented. “The .DE ccTLD was especially lucrative with 10 numeric .DE sales and the top sale overall WG.de selling for over €100K, with several other generic .DE’s following close behind. I’m extremely proud of the efforts made by our Sales and Marketing teams and wish all of the buyers congratulations on getting the best in domain names,” concluded Meyer-Schönherr.
