Facebook launched #Libra and #Calibra – Which #domains are being used?

Facebook is rolling out Libra, a new, global cryptocurrency protocol.

The Libra Blockchain is a decentralized, programmable database designed to support a low-volatility cryptocurrency that will have the ability to serve as an efficient medium of exchange for billions of people around the world.

Libra operates from Libra.org, a domain that was registered in 1997. While there are no recorded sales for the domain, it was most definitely acquired by Facebook to serve as the cryptocurrency’s primary domain. Most cryptos depend on .ORG domains for their coin.

Furthermore, Facebook is rolling out Calibra, the primary wallet manager using the Libra platform. Operating from Calibra.com, that domain was sold for $7,550 dollars in October 2018 via the GoDaddy auctions.

Will there be fees for using Facebook Calibra to send and receive Libra money?

Transaction fees will be low-cost and transparent, especially if you’re sending money internationally. Calibra will cut fees to help people keep more of their money.

Will be very interesting to see if this is a catalyst for continued crypto growth as it moves its use to more mainstream now.

Some hefty partners like Visa, Mastercard, eBay, Spotify, Uber, etc. definitely make this something to watch as it all unfolds in 2020.
