Is #DropCatch keeping the domain LTU.com to themselves?

DropCatch auctioned off LTU.com—the youngest three letter .com in the world—in mid November.

The winner of that auction didn’t seem to care: the winning bid of $35,550 dollars was not collected within the 10 day payment window.

How do we know that?

For starters, the WHOIS hasn’t changed and the landing page for LTU.com still displays the results of the auction that ended more than 2 weeks ago.

It’s clear that the auction’s winner didn’t pay, but why isn’t the domain LTU.com back in auction?

Could it be that such a premium set of letters is great for DropCatch to own themselves, especially since it cost them “reg fee” to register?

Technically they can do that but is it cool or even ethical to hold onto a premium LLL .com domain of this caliber such as LTU.com that other domain investors bid on?

We’ll have to wait and see what DropCatch does next with LTU.com.
